I took this pic of my friend's bonfire the other night. I think it fits nicely in the category of revenge. Fire is normally a fierce subject which made it remind me of revenge.
Great approach to the category of revenge Cameron. Fire can be tricky to photograph but it provides endless amounts of interesting compositions because of the constant movement; you will never get two of the exact same image. Its great you were able to preserve the black background and not have any of the surrounding environment visible in the firelight. All of the forms and value range created in the flame is like an abstract painting almost. How do you think it would change if you cropped it?...perhaps took only one corner, or small section? would it lose that fierce quality and just become about the composition?
I really like the shape of this photo, the way the fire wraps and lashes out is very interesting. It surly has a sense of motion and really shows the uncontrollable nature of fire. As for revenge, I completely agree that this is a great example of the subject.
